The Cyber Bullying Project Award 2014/15

‘Cyber Bullying’
The Community College, Whitstable, Kent
Nominated by: Michelle Busby
The Community College in Whitstable won the Cyber Bullying Award 2014/15 with their project on e-safety and the effects of cyber bullying along with potential consequences.
The project which included a Year 7 Harry Potter theme and videos on cyber bullying was created to educate students on e-safety, cyber bullying and how to be safe online and report abuse.
Christopher Verrall - Head of ICT and Hannah Clift were responsible for running the programme which looked at raising awareness and recognise those students that were being cyber bullied.
Quizzes, posters, workbooks, posters etc were all used to convey the programme and aid other students to report to someone if they felt they were being bullied.
The School has benefitted as a whole as it has increased awareness.
Students are now more aware of how to stop unwanted attention online or through social media, they are also aware of the consequences if they become the perpetrator.
